I have seven grandchildren and this piece is the second in a series of sculptures dedicated to them. Marissa was at the beach and her cousin was snorkeling in the shallow water. So, Marissa goes to the beach, takes her bucket full of toys and empties it, goes back into the water, and sets it upside down. Then she sits on her stomach on the bucket to imitate her cousin and swim too. A child's imagination is so spontaneous, pure and fascinating! I was inspired to sculpt this moment. I added a snail since she was always looking for them. This sculpture is made entirely of wood.
Sizes: 18 x 20 x 2 inches
Wood type: American basswood
